What it's the truth. Call the previous owner and see if they have the code. The code is there to stop people from using it if it's stolen. I didn't say you stole it.
That radio got some good reviews. 1 out of 5 1 out of 5 VM9022 IS A REAL DOG Written By jsiggin, Oklahoma City, OK on Friday, February 15, 2008
I just installed the second VM9022 because the first one was defective out of the box. The unit would be working properly and suddenly the screen would scramble and after about a minute shut down, and the Jensen logo screen would display. The controls were unresponsive until the ignition was turned off and on again or the unit reset button was pushed and the password was entered. I also had to call Audiovox customer support to find out you had to enter the password backwards. They also told me that the Audiovox XM Satellite adapter was not compatible with the VM9022 unit and would not be until Audiovox got around to making the firmware available (no date set yet). The XM adapter that is compatible with the unit was discontinued by Audiovox. The Crutchfield Customer Service Reps were very helpful and replaced the unit without a hassle in about three days. I just installed the replacement unit and it has the same problems. Crutchfield has agreed to allow me to change to another brand of unit at no charge because of the compatibility issue and they've been great to work with.
