I have a way to do it with a remote at home. I'll have to look for it, but I'll post it when I get home.

To decode the 2002 units:

1. Push and hold the DISP button.
2. Then push and hold the Volume up button while holding the DISP button, the "----" will disappear.
3. Enter "KCAR" using the remote control.
Press the 5 button 2 times, then the track forward key.
Press the 2 button 3 times, then the track forward key.
Press the 2 button 1 time, then the track forward key.
Press the 7 button 2 times, then the track forward key.
4 The unit should enter the All Off mode, if it was not input properly the
unit will ask for the code again.

I still have the little yellow warranty card.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
I always use my daughter's B-Day for the security code in my Kenwood's for this exact reason. Good Luck.
