Hi, I have a stock Bose Head Unit running 2 Kicker s10L7s on a Kicker 1200.1. Would a new HU improve the performance of my subs? Am I better off purchasing another L7? I need more bass. Thanks.

another sub would probably give you more bass, a new HU would give you a lot cleaner and better sounding bass.

Thanks. How do you add another HU so that you can keep the factory HU in its din? I've seen alot of people installing aftermarket HU in the glove compartments, etc. Would the stock HU still be in use? How is the configuration? Thanks.

I am planning on getting an Alpine HU. Which model do you guys recommend? I have about 400-450 bucks.

you could keep your factory h/u if you get a line driver which ups the voltage to your amp, if you decide to get a h/u i would just put it in the stock location, if you wanna get creative and you're worried about getting it stolen you could put the new one in recessed and take the face off the bose and cover the aftermarket when you leave the car.

If you have a built in sub xover with low frequency boost it will make a world of difference

The headunit DID improve the sound of my sub. Plus, my old Kenwood wouldn't even turn on my amp. I'm guessing the voltage was too low?

The pre-out for mine is:
(5V) and (100-ohms), look for the highest voltage, lowest impedance for your pre-outs.

I have the 7894 and it made everything sound better. I think most of this was due to the internal crossover feature, so if you run external crossovers you may not notice as much of a difference as I did. Great deck though.
