I just got a RE Audio SEx 12" D2 woofer and put it in a 2.0 cu. ft. box ported at 32hz. I currently have a RF 451s running it. It's getting a little under 500W and sounds alright but I want to get a bigger amp. I was thinking of something in the 600W range since that is the speakers RMS but I've been told by quite a few people the SE's can handle way more than their RMS.
So what would be a good RMS wattage to really get this speaker pounding? 600W? 800W? 1000W? Let me know.

get an amp that can do about 800W RMS, that way you aren't trying to operate it at it's limit. also, you will notice that going to a Class D will increase efficiency, so you can increase power to the sub while maintaining the same power draw as the 451S. My 451S is only 60% efficient.

Would a Diamond Audio D3-800.1 be a good choice then? I was already kinda looking at the D3-1000.1 but it might be a little too big.
BTW, the car is a Integra and I really don't want to tax the alternator too much. My lights already kinda dim with the 451s.
