Is it possible to connect an MP3 player (any cheap mp3 player) directly to cheap amplifier in the $50-$100 range (mini to RCA inputs) then to typical car speakers? Are there any potential problems this might cause?

I'm not too worried about audio quality (as long as it's decent), the car interior is loud and most of the time driven as a convertible anyways. But currently has no head unit and I don't want to cut a hole in the dash. And keep it cheap.

Thanks!

definitely doable, and if you aren't concerned about sound quality, then you really have no worries.
