Hey Guys

I am trying to replace the "cheapie" 8" two way speakers in my boat with a set of Polk Audio component speakers that are 6.5", does anyone make an adapter to do this?, any ideas how to do it?

I could make an adapter out of wood or metal, BUT, the boat is already upholstered and it would be ALOT of work to do it, was hoping someone made and adapter or ?????????????

Thanks alot guys!
Michael

There isn't an adapter that I know of so you're probably looking at making your own...

any adapter is going to be cheap black plastic and certainly won't match your boat.

make your own out of wood, then paint or stain or cover it to match.

I agree with Keep_Hope_Alive on this. You can make it, and wrap the adapter with fabric matching your boat.

Also I don't know if you want to go this route, since it sounds like you already have the 6.5" speakers. But another option is that you can get some decent 8" Coaxials to drop right in the standard location. Focal has a nice set of 8" Coax that aren't too expensive. They are the Access Line 210 CA1. My shop uses them in boats, Rhinos, Rangers, etc... and they do impress me with the sound quality of them. Just another thought to consider. Hope you figure something out.

Great!, Will check them out, I was also thinking of using a set of JL Audio 7.7's if they would be a close fit? either way, THANKS! for the help!
