Hi Everyone,
Has anyone used and read a review on this new subs from PPI? I had a pair of older Pro 12's loved them. Again any posting or reviews from any websites about these new subs. Just trying to find some user feedback.
Thanks manster

I heard two of the new 12" woofers installed in a civic at a local shop. I think they were putting about 1000 watts rms to each sub. It sounded horrible. I'm not sure if it was the box or what, but it was just a one note wonder. The shop said the box was built to manufactor's specs. Sounded great at 30Hz but after that just got terrible. I loved and have owned 2 12" Pro Series (ADST era) PPI flat piston subs, and one (ADST era) Pro 15" sub. They were awesome subs for the era they came out and were great for SQ, but they were easy to cook if you overpowered them. They were also impossible to recone.
The new subs that were being made under DEI aren't the same design, It just has a flat dustcap. Now the PPI brand name is owned under the parent company of Power Acoustik. I don't know what their plans are, as far as continuing the brand, as DEI (who owned PPI after ADST went bankrupt, and then sold the name to Power Acoustik) basically shelved them (PPI and A/D/S) and just focused on Orion. We'll see what happens. I'm kind of bummed to see such great brand names such as Orion, PPI, and A/D/S go down the tubes. They were my favorite brands back in the day, and I grew up with their products. They made stuff that would last forever. I still have some 20 year old amps from them in my closet that still work the same as the day they were bought.
Anyway sorry to ramble, In my opinion, I would think you'd be happier going with a different sub/brand if you are looking to spend the amount of money that one of the new PPI Pro subs cost.
