Hello everyone,

I have an 09 Chevy Impala SS with the BOSE System. From a previous install many years ago, I have a JL Audio 250/1 amp and a sub in a box. I would like to add this to my stock system. In the past I've used a LOC and its worked "ehhh okay". I had a hard time tuning the system to sound great. It did go BOOM but the SQ wasn't great.

Its been a few years, so I'm hoping technology has improved a bit. I see there's a JL Audio "Cleansweep". I'm not sure what it does. Would this be the way to go for the best sound? Are there other adapters that add sub out?

I definately want to keep my stock headunit with Onstar, XM, Chimes, etc. I don't "hate" the BOSE, but it needs more bass.

I've been searching around the net, and I can't find much info on upgrading Impalas. Back in the day I had Trailblazers, and there were tons of stuff online for how to do audio upgrades.

Thanks for any advice. I may take it to a shop for this job. I want to at least make sure I know what I'm asking for when I go there.

Upgrading the bass in your new Impala is the one thing you Can Do Easley (any and every thing ells gets difficult, complicated and expensive)

The source of the input signal is critical (due to the Bose equalization and x-overs of the speakers)

Need to tag the factory sub for input signal source
Many company offer the hi-to-low level signal adapters like the PAC trunk-loc (the new model is a SOME-T) that is really all you need. Other than a remote rca level knob to control the bass (PAC LC-1)

The Clean Sweep in a very expensive Signal Processor used to produce a Full Range out-put signal when amplifying your entire system (would be expensive for a bass only application, however could be done)

the last trick is getting a remote turn on if the LOC you buy doesn't have that feature already.

i recommend disconnecting the factory sub when you do this, they suck anyway.
