Hi this is my first post here and I have a question. I blew my Kicker 10" CVR's tonight and the shop is going to replace them for free since they sold and installed them for me. So my question is should I get the d2 or d4 cause my amp is 1ohm stable its a JBL BP600.1 600x1 @ 1ohm and 2ohms and I'm going to upgrade my amp soon. So what do you guys suggest me to get is running the amp at 1ohm vs 2 ohms going to sound any different? I need to find out soon cause the shop is 120 miles ago so I have to call them back tonight to tell the shop owner what I want. thanks

I used to own the 600.1 and it is deffenitly not 1 ohm stable. I know first had. I tested it to see . But if you are running 2 subs run dual 2 and if you are using one sub then dual 4.
I would probably wait until you get the amp before choosing the right ohm load. Is there a specific amp you plan on? What is the rest of your system?
If you have blown subs, you may have your amp set wrong. The main cause of blown sub is excessive heat due to distortion from clipping. How is the amp set?

I'm between a Kicker zx1000.1 1000 @ 2 ohms and a Powerbass 1000 @ 1 ohm so that really isn't helping me right now
Yeah the shop set the gain on the amp I didn't so I checked with my dmm and it read 34.6 so the was set right cause I was runing it at 2ohm so I believe the one sub was defected cause only one blew and the other is fine but the shop wants to replace both of them for me

I ran the amp at 1ohm before a few years back it worked fine but it got hot so maybe it's better to run it at 2ohms
I would run it at 2 ohms. if it doers the same power at each why run it at 1?
I'm just using the JBL amp for a little bit till I save up some extra cash and get a bigger and better amp and I know it will be cheaper to get 1000 watts @ 1 ohm cheaper than 2ohms
Both of those amps are great choices. I would probably choose Powerbass just because they have a better THD rating then the Kicker and can be use down to one ohm.
If you go with 2 D4 sub then the Powerbass would work. Kicker would work with a 2 D2 sub

thanks for the help guys but for now I'm just going with the d2's for now cause the amp I have now works better at 2 ohms cause it might be a little while before I upgrade my amp and I'll get better subs cause cvr's are cheap and lacking output and I really want nicer subs later on
Sounds great. Are the subs in a sealed or ported box?
