I have a box that is built as my center console and it is 3 cu. ft. total, split in the middle. It is for 2 subs. What would it be like if I put 2 subs in there that only require .75 cu. ft. per sub? Would it ruin the performance of the subs? Would it make them louder since its bigger? What should be done about this?

it will change the response. depending on the sub it may be better, it may be worse.
you could port the box, that should get you closer.
or cut blocks that can fit in the box to make the volume smaller and stiffer.

You would also want to make sure the specs of the subs match the box size/type.
