Need advice on where to install a pair of CDT M6'S mids and ES-02 Mid/Tweets to get the best sound in an 07 Dodge Quad Cab. I'm running them active off a Pioneer 880PRS HU and an Alpine PDX4.150 amp. Also, I need to know what the crossover and amp settings should be as well. Very new to this so forgive my ignorance.

Mount the mids in either the doors or kicks. For the tweeters, get some velcro and see what position sounds best. CDT performs at its best off axis. The M6 should be good down to about 60-70Hz but test with that. I would play it up to atleast 2kHz and cross it with the tweeter there. But play around with frequencies as well.

Took it by Car Toys ealier today and the tech said the imaginging wouldnt suffer if he installed them in the dash where the factory tweeters were. That didnt seem right to me but he insisted.

The best thing to do is test tweeter locations and use what sounds best.

Makes sense. Guess when you're trusting someone else to determine what sounds best its kind of a coin toss. Hopefully this installer know what he's talking about then.

the amp settings are specific to the installation and the other gear. a professional installer will know just how to set it.
your crossover settings are dependent on the drivers used, their locations, and if they are off axis. you may want the crossover point as low as 2kHz, maybe up to 4kHz. you can also look at the passive crossover's points.
gain setting is dependent on the HU and your listening volume. if you know the preout voltage of the HU you can set your gain, or input sensitivity, to that number.
in short, no one can just tell you proper amp settings without sitting down with the system. we can give you conservative settings only.

I don't think CT did a very good job of making my system sound good. Guess my next step is finding a good installer and having them tweak it properly.
Anyone know of a good shop in the Dallas area?

I will be driving through Dallas tonight sometime. There may be one on here who would do it. If so he will let you know.
