Looking at the 12" says the rms is 2500 watts. I only have 1200-1400 on tap, any experience?

I wouldn't underpower a sub by that much. Thats a personal preference. There are MANY subs you can get that will handle the 1200-1400w you have available. What amp do you have?

I had a 15" Axis and was running 4000 watts rms to it. It hammered and sounded awesome. I then changed my setup due to buying a new truck for a daily driver, and replaced my amps with some JL amps. I ran a JL 1000/1 on the Axis while waiting for my JL subs that I ordered to come in, and it sounded horrible being underpowered. You won't be happy with the sub unless you had enough power for it. Just my 2 cents. Like Basher said, there's tons of good subs out there that would love the power you have on tap now and sound good. Look at Fi, RE, Audio Pulse Epic, RU, Sound Splinter, etc... if you are looking for an offbrand sub that will rock. Or look at JL's, Alpine, Rockford, etc...

I have a ED 9.1 amp... I pulled up TC Sounds old site and the same build sub as the Axis rms is only 1200 watts. Why does Audiopulse rate there so high? or did TC underrate theirs..
