I want to run a 4 channel amp to my door and rear speakers in my ford fusion. I have an audio control 4.1 that i use as my in dash eq/line driver. it has 4 sets of inputs, front, rear, aux and main. i use the main input to my cd player. i use the rear input for my sub amp. my question is if i want to run 4 speakers off a 4 channel amp can i do that with only one set of inputs? It leaves me with the front inputs on the audio control to use. i only have aux left if somehow i can use that. if this sounds complicating i am sorry i will provide anymore info i can, just ask.

some four channel amps can run off a two channel input. some cannot. totally depends on the amp. the owner's manual will tell you. if it doesn't have a switch for 2CH-3CH-4CH operation, it may require all four inputs be used.
if you only have two channels, you can use a Y-adapter to fill all four channel inputs. A "female to dual male" RCA y-adapter works nicely.
also, some amps have Line outputs. so you could feed the sub amp from an output on the 4 channel amp. personally, i prefer my fronts louder than my rear speakers, so i would put the sub on the same fader control as the front speakers. then fade to front and make the rears quieter.
and to clear up your terminology - it has Main and Aux Inputs, Front and Rear outputs.
