Mids play you mid range/bass frequencies usually from 60-80Hz up to where you cross them with the tweeters and highs play your high frequiencies usually 2.5kHz and up in your typically 2 way.

The 6.5 or 5.25 is the mid and the tweeter is the high.

It depends on the sepaker. If it is a coaxial it comes with a tweeter built into it so you will get mids and highs. What are you looking at buying?

The nex Hybrid speaker will be a single speaker but with the option to remove the tweeter and mount it virtually anywhere. Either way you go you can't go wrong. Both companies make excellent speakers. I would wait and listen to the Hybrids and buy what sounds best to you.
