is there much of a difference in this one and the 1000.1Dx?

Not sure of the difference but it is a good, clean amp and will do rated power.

the 1000.1x is this years model. i can't remember what the differences are, but i don't think it's much.

i just installed one in my buddies G6 running two 10" phoenix gold RSD's and he is in love. makes rated power, well built, just be careful of the finish on the heatsink. it scratches very easily, so just make sure the amplifier is mounted and don't set a screwdriver on it either

Yeah, the surfaces can get pretty mesed up if one beats it up. I'm a fan of the PB amplfiers. GREAT value...GREAT. I mentioned this in another PB post, I've installed many of Jay's amplifiers. I have yet to have one quit, be DOA, or have issues yet.

Install them correctly and you've got a winner.
