hey guys...im new at this...wut do you think??
Alpine Type-S 6 1/2's in front door (85 RMS) / 6 x 9's in rear deck (80 RMS) powered by a Hifonics TXi 6408 (170 RMS per pair) and 2 12inch Kenwood KFC-W3011 subs (400 RMS each) powered by Kenwood KFC-8104D (unsure of RMS to each sub...how do i calculate this?)

your first option yields up to 250W per sub.
either option will probably be about the same output, maybe the kenwood setup would be louder. totally depends on the enclosure and how you orient the sub in the vehicle.
try to upgrade to Type-R speakers.
