I have an infinity reference 475A amp putting out 75watts RMS to each of my four component speakers. I also have ordered a JL Audio 1000/1 monoblock amp to power my two subs. I am ordering new pos. and neg. battery terminals to do the big 3 on. I am ordering 25 feet of 1/0 fleks kable for power from the + battery terminal to a distribution block near the amps. Is it worth it to go with the fused distribuation block or just get a standard ground/power distribution block (nonfused)? Also what main fuse do I need to get that goes close to the battery? From the distribution block I am running 4 gauge to each of the amplifiers for the power. On the ground side I will run 4 gauge off each amp to an another distribution block that will then run 1/0 to a ground on the frame. I plan to get 50 feet of 12 gauge wire for the speakers and subs. Anything else I need beside ring terminals? Thanks

A non fused distribution block should be fine as long as you have the positive wire fused near the battery.

You should always add a fuse when you are splitting a wire or reducing it in size... in the case of a block, you are doing both so you should get a fused block. For 1/0ga wire, a 250-300A fuse would be appropriate. Do you already have RCAs for signal connection? How about a 16ga wire for remote turn on?

Ok so I got a 250 amp inline fuse to go close to the battery. I got the fused distribution block with 100 amp fuses also. For a dual amp setup do I need to run RCA's from the head unit to each of the amplifiers or run one RCA to the 4 channel amp and then a short pair of RCA's to the other sub amp? My head unit has 3 pairs of RCA's. One for the front speakers, one for the rear speakers and one for the sub. Do I then need to run two pair of RCA's to the 4 chanel amp. powering my front and rear components? Thanks.

Looks like 277 dollars worth of wiring! Good grief.

you want three sets of RCA's. front, rear, and sub separate. yes, you can feed the sub amp from the four channel but you lose your sub level control at the HU (which i use everyday).

also, you should maintain your fader. further, some 4 channel amps need all four inputs used.

make sure you have enough 1/0 ground wire (different color than power)

Thanks for the input. I ordered a positive and negative battery terminals since I'm doing the "big three" as well. I got 25 feet of 1/0 blue power wire. One inline fuse and a 250 amp fuse. 2 fused junction blocks with 100 amp fuses. 6 feet of 4 gauge blue power wire to go to each amp. 10 feet of 1/0 black ground wire to go from the ground distribution block to the frame. 6 feet of black 4 gauge wire to ground each amp from the distribution block. 2 18 feet 4 chanel amp RCA's and 1 18 foot 2 channel amp RCA. I also got 50 feet of 12 gauge speaker wire. Hopefully that does it. I'll pick up some 12 gauge wire for the remote wire. Thanks again for the help. Looking forward to the install.

If you are going with a fused distribution block, I wouls suggest the going something other then AFU fuse. Remember adding more fuse or any other contact increase resistance.

^ I don't think Knu uses AFU fuses for anything, they are all ANL or Mini ANL as far as I know. As for the '2 fused junction boxes', just so that you are clear, the ground box does not need fuses in it, just the one for the power wires. And a fused 'power' distro block is always a good idea, because if you pop a fuse, your other amps will still work, I know from experience how much this sucks...
