Hello, I have a 04 ext cab silverado. I am wanting to add just a little more base than I get from the door speakers. Not anything boomie or super loud, just a nice tight base . I listen to mostly 70s 80s Rock. Thinking about getting a good 8" sub and amp to run it. I would like to fit it under the back seat but need all the floor space I can get. Budget is $200 for sub and amp , I know I can make my own box. Any suggestion on a nice 8" sub and amp to run it ? Thanks Mike

are you willing to buy used?
Kicker Solo Classic 8" for $99 http://www.crutchfield.com/p_20609S8C4/Kicker-Solo-Classic-09S8C4.html?c=3
that is an excellent 8" sub for the money. but it only leaves you $100 for an amp. you'll have to buy one used for that price - looking for a mono block amp that is rated between 300-500W RMS at 2 ohms.

Crutchfield is an authorized internet seller. i looked at their weekly specials.
you may save money going to other online retailers, but you lose any warranty.
with the proper box, and proper configuration, the above should satisfy your needs. recognize that the enclosure and how it's aimed makes all the difference. try down firing the sub if it's in the middle of the vehicle.
