How would I install a Audiocontrol LC6i line-output-converter?

I'm in the process of upgrading my stereo, factory OEM integration.
Honestly, I feel pretty dumb right now, but its better to be safer than sorry.
The AudioControl LC6i line-output-converter has a +12v and ground connection (much like a amplifier).
According to the LC6i Owners Manual.pdf: (+12V) Positive Connection: "...connect it to a good constant source of 12 volts (we suggest the battery), fused at 1 amp." Ground Connection: "...run it from the “Ground” connector on your LC6i to the negative terminal of the battery, a ground bus, or a verified ground location. The factory head unit ground is not a good ground!"
Some of my thoughts:
Ok, I believe I understand that using the same ground as my amplifier(s) is a bad idea because they draw considerably more current than this line-output-converter.
Do you think the ground for my radio is a good place to ground the LC6i? And I do not mean a black wire, but rather the metal that is used to bold my radio to (behind the dash); I believe its a chassis ground for the stock OEM radio/climate control housing that so many modern cars use these days.
Now how in the heck do I connect a power wire to the LC6i? The +12V connector on the LC6i accepts 12 - 18 gauge wire; there are no distribution blocks any higher than 10 gauge. Also, in the owners manual they "we suggest the battery"; which is fine and all, but my amplifier(s) will have their 4 gauge wire connected to the battery; would it be safe to connect them at the same battery post point?
I just want to install it right.

First, welcome to Sound Domain
Second, excellent post. you provided links to the manual, clearly stated your question, and even suggested a solution. thank you.
where will you locate the LC6i? you want your ground wire as short as possible, preferably less than 18" definitely less than 3 feet. so if you are locating it at the amps, you will ground with the amps. if you locate it up front, grounding with the head unit is fine (at chassis). you can develop noise from a ground loop if you have too high resistance between the amplifier ground and processor ground and head unit ground.
as far as power - same question. where is it going to be located. i've pulled it off amp power terminal before - use an inline fuse holder with appropriately sized fuse. you must always fuse a wire whenever you change wire size. in my system i have a dedicated 10awg wire off a fused distro block in my trunk that is fed from 1/0. that 10awg is for processors, fans, etc. you certainly do not need to run a power wire for this to the battery. if you are installing this up front, then you'll need power from the fuse box or from the battery. if you go to the fuse box, make sure you properly fuse the new wire. you can get fuse adapters that let you add a second fuse to an existing fuse if a spare is not available. this will not draw a lot of current.

since the unit is fused at 1 amp, you could realistically use the factory radio power if it is located up front. you still need an inline fuse holder sized for 1 amp. you don't need to go to a dedicated location in the fuse box for this. additionally, snagging the factory radio (ignition) wire will ensure the unit turns on and off with the radio power (like if the radio stays on until you open your doors).

R.A.P is usually on a data line....not a switched +12V line

Is that a "professional" and "safe" way to do it? The owners manual says off the battery, and I can only assume for a reason.
Also, using the fuse box location seams to be unfavored.
