What would the loudest combination of a sub and amp be if the combo was kept under $1000. There is space to make a 4 Cu. Ft. box where the center console is in an 08 ram. It can be single or dual, just nothing bigger than an 12. Other opinions would be appreciated since i've only been exposed to kicker, alpine, and jl audio.

So many brands to look at! right off the top of my head the Fi BTL, SSA Icon or Xcon comes to mind run that off any good 1k-1500 watt amp

if anyone thinks they can predict the loudest combination, thay are lying to you.
there are too many variables. you need power, and lots of it. power is expensive.
the brands listed make nice subs. RE audio XXX, Ultra LV12.
my suggestion - buy used. take advantage of this economy and buy some expensive gear at "i just lost my job and need to pay rent" prices. look in our classifieds section. try to get no less than 1000W RMS from a quality amp. get one awesome 12" sub. run it ported.
how it will perform depends on orientation. i just made a down firing center console config, performs well, but not as intense as it would be if i loaded off of the rear of the cab.

Deffenitly look into Ultra. They are an SQ sub but get LOUD.
But how loud it gets will depend on the install like Keep Hope said.
