I have an 08 Ram regular cab and i'm looking to build a crazy loud system off of one sub. It can be 10'' or 12'', what sub and amp would be the loudest for under $1000?

that is a small budget for "crazy loud". maybe a JL13W7 and 1000/1 - used. if you build the right box yourself.

You can get Powebass amps authorized dealers for a pretty good price. Maybe an ASA2000.1 or a XTA-1500D and a 3XL-121D (wired to 2 ohms). That should hit pretty hard if the enclosure is built properly.

it is 90% determined by the install. you willing to remove the rear seat?

its a reg. cab truck. I can take out the center console and build one with an enclosure that is 4 cu. ft. I know this because i've already done it.

ah, sorry. i read extended cab for some reason. i've done a center console install before.

i agree, do a ported 12 in the center console. how you aim it will have a huge effect on performance. you can load off the rear cab wall, but you'll need to reinforce it. add a sheet of MDF to the rear cab if you plan on aiming the sub backwards.

no idea if you'll get to 145dB. maybe with a tone if you get lucky with pathlengths.
