Looking for a good amp. to power my two memphis s class subs. 500 RMS watts and 1000 Peak. Don't care about a budget just looking for a good amplifier. They are 4 ohm speakers.

I bought dual voice coil subs. But I can return them if a single voice coil would be better?

ok, so you have two 4 ohm DVC subs. that means you want an amp that can produce at least 1000W RMS at either 1 ohm or 4 ohms.

for no budget and maximum SQ
Genesis Monoblock (1100W x 1 @ 1 ohm)

No I don't really have a budget but that shouldn't mean I should get the most expensive amp out there does it? Especially considering I am using it to power 2 shallow subs. While I think memphis makes a quality shallow sub. It is still a shallow sub and I won't be able to upgrade due to a lack of space. So I would think a nice mid to upper level amp. Would be sufficient no?

^that's why giving a budget helps us to narrow down the choices. throw a number out there, and we will suggest amps that are less than that and that will also suit your needs.

Well I was looking at the jl audio splash v2 that puts out 500 arms at 4 ohms. So I guess something around the 500 mark should adequately power them yeah? Thanks for the help.

thanks for giving us an amount. i started high so you'd come down to where you want to be.

JL Audio slash series are nice amps. the JL 1000/1 would be an excellent amp for your needs - wire the subs for 4 ohm mono. the JL 500/1 would also be a good amp, but would be less power than the subs can handle.

Powerbass XTA-1500D would also work, wired for 1 ohm.

Ah yes I see the 500/1 would only bee enough power for one sub. Also...is there an advantage to running one amp per sub for my application? I would also like to know who makes a good fuse connection and distribution block? My thought was to run 1/0 wire from the battery to a distribution block on the back where I would have 4 awg wire going to each amplifier. Would it be appropriate to run 4 awg for the grounds to frame?
