Im gonna purchase one of these for my door speakers, but my question is, can I use the 300/2 for my doors speakers? I'm thinking that the 300/4 just gives me the fade option of all 4 speakers, right? So, if I just want a front and back fade, can I just hook up my 2 front door speakers to 1 channel, and my other 2 door speakers to the other channel? I mean, whats the real difference in a 2 and 4 channel amp? I mean i know you can bridge a 2 channel amp to make it 1 channel, but what else?

you need right and left balance. you want a fader. that means you need four channels.
if you use a two channel amp you lose your fader. you cannot lose left and right balance.
what you're proposing would put the right channel in the front and the left channel in the rear. don't do that, it would sound awful.
you can also bridge a 4 channel to 2 channels with higher power. or you can use a 4 channel to run speakers and bridge to run a sub. a 4 channel amp is much more flexible.
buy the 300/4.

Yea, i just thought about it before i logged on. Then I wouldnt have the sound that some songs send to the right front speaker and then to the left front at different points in the song...which would completely defeat the purpose of great door speakers! Thanx

more importantly, the left and right channels create a sound stage. they place instruments, vocals, etc.
