If you would have put those two 8mm screws back into the bottom of the radio bracket, this wouldn't have happened. I used to see this all the time. You have to remove them to get the stock deck out. Why not put them back?

Bloody knuckles? It's a Civic. Pop out the lower panel under the radio and use a Skewdriver to remove the two 8.. screws.

your blinkers do not work because the hazard button is gone. go to a junkyard.

I actually found the hazard button in the back seat, broken to pieces. But at least now I know whats causing it, but I'll still need some A/C controls anyway. I tried to put those two screws back in, but for some reason I could not get them lined up properly. I still have the screws, and I will definitely take the time and do it right next time.

i'm still using a plastic mount kit but i'm really looking forward to fabricating my own mount. regardless, the radio will NOT be integral to the trim. it will have bolts holding it in with a back strap.
back straps can help deter thieves also. course, they'll just break whatever they can't remove.

your problem is typical with theft. the damage done to the vehicle and the other parts removed (A/C controls) is more of a hassle and pain than the actual components.

I feel your pain!! I actually accused my wife of not rolling up the side window of my Camry after a long canoe trip. Needless to say when I got a little closer to the car, there was no window to be found. They ruined my Rockford head unit and dash trying to pry it out. The rock that they used to smash out the window took out my center console. I was finding glass for months!!!

Keeping all these things in mind, do you have any recomendations on security systems? Murph, I'm kinda lookin to you here, seeing as you are the security specialist, and that you live in my area (DFW), and also any good shops to install it as well? I do not think that this is something I could do myself...
