Im looking for some door speakers, and I really like focal, but My pockets aren't that fat right now. I'm looking at some Boston Pro 60's, the first ones, not the SE. I have 2 JL 13w7s for my subs, so i want some good sound from my door speakers. Anybody have experience with the Pro 60s? I'm getting 2 sets from a friend for $150...4 Pro 60s with crossovers. How do they compare to Focal?Please enlighten me

To get the best idea of the comparison you need to listen to the Bostons. If you like the Focals so much I would wait and save some more money for them. Espicially if you like them more than the Boston's. But deffenitly go listen to the Pro 60's.

you have a grand in subs and sub amps, expect to open your pockets a bit more for the other 98% of the music you want to hear.
Focal and Boston both have entry lines that are good, and high end lines that are awesome. but they sound different, and it's your ears. find shops that sell them and listen. sounds like you're getting a good deal on the Pro60's, so that might be a good starting point. make sure you have a good amp to power them, and the install is up to par. the install is everything, deaden, seal, etc. to ensure the speakers are in the proper environment.

Actually, I haven't listened to too many sets of focals. I just hear from everyone how good they are, which is why I want them. But, I've heard nothing but good about Boston's components as well. I looked the price up for the Pro 60's and they retailed close to $400 a pair when they came out a few years back. This guy has them in the box and in good but used condition, heres pics. I'm sure just one pair of Focals is gonna run over $400, so I figured $125 for 2 sets in mint condition couldn't be beat.
