i have the polk MOMOs (MMC6500) in the qform kick panels. the speakers are designed for infinite baffle. although those qforms are made for my vehicle, they dont make a very good seal to keep front half the speaker separate from the rear half (pictures to come tomorrow).
although its probably useless without seeing pictures of it first, what could be used the seal the qform from air leaks? the is a rather large gap at the bottom and a very large gap near where my parking brake pedal is (have to keep that in mind so it is not blocked).
im sure someone is going to say that i should first make sure there is adequate airspace behind the qform first seeing as i am going for the infinite baffle. there is already an existing rectangular hole (albeit a smaller one) that vents into a large cavity in the body of my car.
again, im sure pictures will be of great help but maybe someone has already done something similar and knows what i mean.

we know what you mean. the q-forms look nice but don't perform. plastic is not a good enclosure material, and as you noticed, the lack of a seal negates performance. you can keep the q-form as an outer shell, but make an actual kick panel enclosure to go behind it.
first, remove any carpeting or factory materials behind the q-form. use painted MDF, silicone or PL adhesive, non-hardening modeling clay, fiberglass, etc. to make the actual kick panel. you could use the q-form as a mold for a fiberglass kick panel enclosure. make sure everything is well sealed, tight against the metal in the car. don't expect to get a seal to carpet - won't happen.

yea, there are a lot of threads about fiberglass, and articles too. i'll see about building a list. it's pretty simple, just take some good planning.
US Composites has the good resin and mat.
