As you can see by the equipment listed I have been out of the game for a few years. I have always been more of a sound quality person, I'm looking for a new system. I don't really want to spend the money on a ALPINE F1 but I would like about the same ability as my old system.
Front chan is Quart 8"midbass,4", tweet No rear fill pair of Phoenix Gold xmax 8s
I'm now a disabled vet and have the time to play around with this stuff again and enjoy my midlife crisis car a 911. So any help you guys can give to an old far would be great. I just don't know what is on the market these days.

On the cheaper end would be an Alpine 701. they are not made anymore, but you can find them just about anywhere. Mate that up with an Alpine HU with optical out, and you would have a good HU/processor that is more flexible than the XES stuff you had before (it won't sound as good but it will be more flexible). This will cost you less than $1k
Other option would be a Pioneer P9 set up. That would be teh equivilent to what you had. SQ wise it will be very close. If you look around, used it will be around $800-$900. Pioneer also has a few units that are at that same level for sale overseas taht would cost you around $1400 or so.
That's two good options. You could also look into the Zapco DSP6. You can use any HU you like with it. Denon HUs work well with them. That will cost you a bit more. SQ wise--as good as what you had and more flexible.
