Hey I'm a newbie when it comes to this car audio stuff but I had atleast 5 different hands in my car setting up my system and I have already had to replace half of my components due to bad installs….
I'm knowledgeable in electrical wiring and confident I can either do this myself or explain to someone how I want it done.
I currently have a acura tsx 2004.
My system includes:
1 Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp- P400-4 1 Eclispe 2 channel amp Front speakers are JBL component set JBL GTO627 Rear speakers planning on buying alpine SPR-17c 1 12” Eclipse sub
What I wanted to do was run the 4 channel amp to all my door speakers.. And run the 2 channel amp to the 12” sub. Keeping my original Tsx head unit.
1 installer ran a 2 channel stinger line output converter to the fosgate and directly wired the speakers the fosgate they used a capacitor to split the power wire so the 2 channel amp can run they wired the sub to the 2 channel amp and bridged the 2 channel amp to the 4 channel amp…..end result sounds like crap
Anyone else have any suggestions I'm not looking for a step by step just a basic guideline on how to handle this install or anything extra I might need.
Thanks!!

well, you've come to the right place my friend. Welcome to Sound Domain. this forum is filled with world champion competitors, the top installers in the country, and a good collection of competent enthusiasts. all of which are willing to provide their time and expertise for FREE!.
anyway...
what you want to is fairly simple, but is time consuming to do correctly. if you know Ohm's law, you're already ahead of the game. this is simple DC electronics, nothing tricky here.
#1 connections are everything. each connection is a failure point. do it right the first time. take your time, make them perfect. speakers need well crimped (preferably soldered) female disconnects. heat shrink is your friend. you want one continuous run from the amp to the speaker (or crossover). in your case, you'll wire from the amp to the passive crossover inputs. then from the crossover outputs to the tweeter and woofer. be careful and triple check each connection so you get it right. if you label your speaker wires you will help prevent costly mistakes. don't reuse stock speaker wire if you change the speakers. run new wire to each from the crossover. you can locate the crossover in the front or the rear of the car. tweeter location will greatly affect the sound stage - locate it with care. don't just pick the easiest location, play around with different locations. my favorite suggestion is using velcro to move the tweeter around and experiment.
Here are some sample installations. look at what they did. http://forum.sounddomain.com/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/1370104/page/1#Post1370104

i recommend you start by bridging the 4 channel amp to your JBL components. don't worry about rear speakers right now. get your front speakers in and sounding great first.
the 2 channel amp can be bridged, then used to run the sub. is the Eclipse sub a 4 ohm SVC sub?
you will need power wiring (4 awg) that routes from the battery with a fuse holder close to the battery terminal. in the trunk (or wherever your amps are) you'll have a fused distribution block, with 8 awg feeding your amps (assuming your amps want 60A or less).
most 4 channel amps have a set of RCA outputs to feed other amps. you can use the LOC to feed the 4 channel, then feed the 2 channel from the 4 channel RCA outputs. you could also feed the 4 channel from 2 channel outputs. note that some 4 channel amps require that all four inputs be filled to use all four channels. if so, then you want y-adapters (single female, two male RCA) to get four inputs filled.
how you install your speakers will determine how good they sound. just putting them in a factory location with no treatments will usually result in poor performance. a speaker is only as good as it's enclosure. MDF makes great baffles. sound deadening can help seal up openings and reduce resonance. foam can help eliminate vibrations and buzzes. these are pretty cheap materials, but much more worthwhile than rear speakers at this point.

read the install threads i linked. download all of the owner's manuals if you don't have them all, and read them all to understand how to wire everything together.
ask questions on anything you don't understand.
cheers!
