Looking for some input/help with what i would say would be my first "system" that i want to last and sound decent.
I use to know a few things back when i was a teenager and hung around a pretty cool crowd. Well i moved on with my life and basically forgot about everything i use to do.
Well now im into drag racing. A couple days ago i went to the nearest Club Car dealer and bought a Club Car XRT 900 for riding around in the pits with. Im wanting to add some music to my new pit vehicle. Just wanting to do a Pioneer or Alpine deck with some decent sounding speakers. Would like to do a pair of 6.5s and maybe a pair of 6x9s.
Questin is, can i get good sound with just using a deck or do i need to run an amp with these speakers as well?
Thanks

good sound is relative. can you sound decent with a head unit and pair of speakers? sure. you just can't expect a lot of volume without some increased distortion.
avoid 6x9's for sound quality (though there are some in the >$300 range). get a good component speaker system and a head unit that offers the features you want. start with that and see what you think. they will need an enclosure, or box. you can buy wedge boxes for like $30, or you can build your own.

I'll have to build my own boxs.
Do they need to be a certain size like they do for subwoofers?
the area where i would like to put the 6.5s, i dont have much room. I'll take some pictures of where i would like to install the head unit and 2 of the speakers.
So would a 50 x 4 amp be alright? if i do only run 2 speakers, which i just might, 100 w bridged on 2 channels, i should get some decent sound?
Thanks for your time guys.

yes, you'll be much louder and much clearer with 100Wx2 from that amp to front components.
pics would help!

Alright, heres what im working with.
Both compartments are about a foot deep. Didnt happen to take a measurement on how tall they are but i dont think i'll have a problem fitting a 6.5" speaker in there. PLENTY of room under the seat for the amp and possibly the crossovers if i do go with a set of components.

And here's the cart overall..

I would like to put the head unit in the right compartment along with a 6.5" speaker.
Cool thing is, both compartments are sealed besides a little drain hole at the back of both and the opening in the front.

Are the MB QUART FSA 216 6.5" FSA 216 any good?
Decently priced, but i would like to throw 100w's at them, that is their peak. Will this be a good idea?

Alright
Im looking at the following-
Pioneer TS-M131 5 1/4 components MB Quart ESA 213 5-1/4 Components And MB Quart FSA213 5 1/4 components
What do you think would be the best choice for what im wanting? Maybe none of the 3 above and something else? Not looking to spend more then around $70 on components.

i think 5.25" comps will be fine. your budget is a bit low, but it will be fine for your purposes. given the environment, will they get wet? if so, that should narrow down your selection to poly cones with rubber surround. also, no silk or fabric tweeters.
too bad you can't fit 6.5's, IamMurph has several sets of marine speakers for sale in our Classifieds section.
you could fit 6.5" if you make a baffle that fits over the opening and holds the speaker. the speaker would then mount to the front of the baffle.
