I did search the forums as I'm sure this has been brought up, but I found nothing
Any ways I'm going to do the Big 3 this weekend, looking to order the parts tonight or tomorrow at the latest. My amp kit is 4 gauge, I guess I'm going 0 gauge for the big 3 wiring. I'm looking at set screw ring terminals, they look a lot nicer, they cost more. But are they better/worse? I've always soldered the end of my wire and crimped it. I'm not sure if these set screw ones are more flash than function. I don't care how it looks when it's done, but these look a lot easier to work with. I don't know squat about them though.
I hope this question doesn't sound too dumb lol. I just want to make sure everything I order is quality. Looking at stuff from KnuKoncept now. Here is is what I'm ordering, unless somebody here has better suggestions
KonFused Battery Terminals Kolossus Fleks Kable 1/0 3 feet black, 5 feet red - Enough red? I have a 2000 Taurus These are the set screw ring terminals, not sure if that's what other companies call them though. Already have a 0ga fuse holder with a 150a ANL fuse. My ALT is stock and my amps aren't huge, 800 watts tops.
Since I'm in Cali, I don't think if I ordered even tomorrow I'd have the stuff by Friday without paying for fast shipping. So I'll wait a day more to order and hope somebody here can drop some knowledge on me. Anyone care to comment on their shipping speed?
thanks if anyone reads this long crap and actually comments

So they work, and I don't have to crimp anything? AH worth the extra cash then. I don't have a vice so I'm not even sure how the hell I'd crimp 0ga spade terminals lol.

Hummm looks like the site doesn't sell split loom, what B&M stores carry it? and what size would I need for 0ga? Also, they only have 1 set screw ring for 0ga, the hole looks pretty small on it, and they're not listing a size. How am I supposed to know if it will fit with the factory nuts and bolts?
last 3 questions lol.

thanks, I need to go to Pep Boys any ways so I'll pick some up while I'm there. Everything I needed was too expensive with 0GA, so I went with 4ga for my Big 3. More than enough for my 2 amps, a shame I don't know how to be patient haha. Oh well, will still be a massive upgrade to the stock wiring, and I can always re-do it later with 0GA.

Personally, I think the crimpable terminal with heat shrink look cleaner, as for functionality, the only thing I can say is that the set screw types are reusable. Also keep in mind that the ends of the set screws (the part you would put the bolt or screw through) are usually much fatter than crimpable terminals, so your bolt would need some extra play room.

I didn't even take the thickness of the end into consideration, if it's too thick I don't think there's much I'll be able to do. Maybe if I pull off the stock wire completely I'll be alright. Funny how you mention you think the ring terminals look cleaner, one of the reasons I got these are for the look haha.

yea problem I have with the screw terminals is that the ring is too thick and I usually dont have a bolt on hand that will work. In addition if the ring hole is too small it is a lot harder to bore out.
