Basslink II Blown???

I searched and could not find a solution so here is my problem:

I installed my Basslink II. I followed infinity's directions for setting gain, crossover, and bassboost which left most of the gain and bassboost close to there midway settings and the crossover a little bit past half way (~100hz). It worked ok for about 2 days and then the sub/amp just cut off during normal listening. Checked the 25 amp fuse in the amp and it was blown. Changed out the fuse and when I cut on my system (volume at about 40%) the speaker kind of belched and the fuse blew again. I cut down the power to almost nothing and this time it didn't blow but the sub sounded like a vibrating paper plate.

Would you say this is an error on my end or is my unit defective?
Note: I purchased off of ebay from 'Discount Central' (who offers a 3 year warranty) and just spoke with them. They are telling me this is not a manufacturer defect and that it will cost me to repair.

On a better note I ordered 3 Infinity Kappa Perfect 10d VQs, a JBL GTO 1201.1, and just built a custom sealed box for them today.

How did you get your audio signal? Hi level or RCA?

Oh and good job saving a buck on ebay. It has no Infinity warranty.

It was a high level through a converter. I was originally using speaker level directly to the amp but it would cut off after a few seconds. Searched around online and everyone said the converter solved the problem, something about our speaker level outputs being to high.

As far as the warranty goes they claim to offer a 3 year warranty. They were supposed to have a tech call me back because the guy I talked to was a complete douche.

Unplug one RCA. It's possible you wired the line out convertor out of phase.

Would they have worked great and then stopped suddenly if that were the case? I was very careful about wiring this setup, and I am almost positive I did not. However, I will give it a shot after my lunch break.

They keep asking me what amp and wiring I am using! HELLO!!! Read the product name I bought basslink ii POWERED subwoofer.

So the douche who doesn't even know what I bought keeps telling me my unit can't be defective. I guess I am just going to file a complaint with paypal.

My new equipment is scheduled for delivery tomorrow but UPS is pretty good about getting it here a day early so I will be keeping my fingers crossed this afternoon!

When you buy from unauthorized dealers you get crappy service. To save yourself time and money next time get quality equipment from authorized dealers and you be guaranteed GOOD service.
