I have a car with 2 front speakers. I'm looking to pick up a cheap head unit (Kenwood KDC-138 maybe) which puts out 4 channels (22 watts RMS, 50 peak each). I do not want to install an amp, subwoofer, or anything extra. Is it possible to combine/bridge 2 channels from a headunit to power 1 speaker without damaging anything?

Thanks.

HU amps aren't designed to be bridged....with the exception of a few pioneer models...even then, i wouldn't recommend it

in short - it's because the speaker outputs of a head unit are already "bridged". both the positive and negative speaker wires have signals. none of them are "ground"
