Did a search, couldn't really find what I'm looking for.
I'm currently using the rear channels of my Factory Amplifier and using it as a line-level input for a mono-block amp. The factory rear speakers are currently disconnected due to the above.
I want to use that same rear factory channel to either re-wire-up the rear speakers or as a second line-level input to another amp. So, here are the ideas I came up with...
Senario 1. Wire the speakers back into the rear channel and use the factory amp. The concern I have with this is that it will make a 2 ohm load and the factory amp might shutdown, pop a fuse, or worse.
Senario 2. Basically the same as number 1 but splice into the rear channels to make a second line-level input to a second amp. The same concern with #1 applies here as well.
The alternative I was thinking was, run the rear channels into a line-out converter and put y-cables on the RCA outputs. Would this get around making a ohm load?
Which would be the better/safer way to go? The main goal is to keep my factory amplifier from having issues. So, any other suggestions (besides replacing head unit) are more than welcome.
