So i just got a new sonoma, its got a built alternator to help support the system but it is throwing out a loud schreech, any ideas how to remedy this?

screeches and squeals are usually from loose belts.

unless you're hearing the bearings inside the alternator.....that requires a rebuild.

Its the alternator, getting it rebuilt. have to run a stock one for about a week. \:\(

That is very common in cheap "built" alternators that simply reduce the pulley size to shift the output curve. The alt spins a little faster at lower RPMs making more power earlier in the curve but at highway speeds the thing is screaming and you burn out the shaft bearings... I'd look into a quality rebuilder.

Yes, im taking it to a pretty reputable guy in my town, so hopefully ill get good results.
