my best advice to you would be keep trying. do some research on what all of the adjustments mean, and how it effects the sound. tuning is trial and error, and it takes time to get it right. also, another get set of ears to listen, preferably someone who knows what they are doing and listening for.
what other equipment are you using?

It's difficult to learn tuning on your own. It can be done, but it's much easier if you have someone to help you. I wouldn't change head units between those two just for ease of tuning. Once you learn the details of how and why you are adjusting things, then you may want something different. Mark Eldrige has some great seminars all over the U.S. if you can make one of those. You could read every article available and hope you understand, but nothing beats one on one help from an expert where you can learn the theory, then try it for yourself.

a sound processor won't make it any easier for you, it will have even more adjustments to confuse you. That eclipse deck has a pretty sick built in EQ. are there any high end shops in your area? if so you can always go to them for help, but expect to pay.
if not, you are just going to have to teach yourself by trying different combinations out, until it sounds great to you.
