Ok.. ive got 2 kicker 15'in cvx's 2,000 watts a piece and a 1,500.1 kicker amp to push em and a kicker 250.2 for mid and highs 4gauge ran directly off stinger terminals on stinger sp 1750 deep cycle battery to push the amps with upgraded postive wire(4 gauge)and a stinger 1 farad cap(i know i know there useless for the most part from what i understand)anyways i have problems of my system getting less and less louder as i drive around bassing hard for a while it starts hitting less and less harder so if i cut off the whole stereo system for while and drive around once i cut it back on it's 6x louder everytime ive tested it a voltage meter and once i get the system cranked my voltage drops horendously to like 10v(cap stays at like 11volts) sometimes i drive a 1988 mercury cougar and from i tell it only has a 50amp alt stock do idk if thats enough to push all that i think the system takes to much from alt and battery and my alt cant keep it charged because i have to charge my battery all the time as is it's always 1/2 dead.. just wondering if there something else could be doing it or i that alt just aint enough amps i mean it is a old car lol... any ideas would be appericated thx

You're running a ZX1500 from 4 gauge wire? And the amp stays on, it doesn't go into protect mode? I would definitely switch that to 0 gauge, and a new alternator would certainly do wonders. What size is the fuse on your power wire?

you need to do more than just upgrade the alt. big 3, and 1/0 main power and ground will help. also, you need to learn how to live within your means. you can't blast it for a long time without it causing issues since you haven't installed this in an optimum environment. basically, until you sort out all of these issues, you have to turn down the volume knob.

when searching for an HO alt, beware of cheap ones that will never put out what they claim they will, ask for an output curve. i recommend you look into Ohio Generator.
