ok so i currently bought this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7216_Pioneer+Premier+DEH-P980BT.html and i have a fi btl 12 on the way with a sundouwn audio 1500d and right now my front speakers are blown and its horrible. I was wondering what speakers u guys think could keep up with the sub.i have a 2002 jeep libertty and the only prob with putting in front speakers is it cant exed a depth of 2.5 thanx budget is 300

you'll need a set of comps and an amp to keep up with that. to get past the depth issue you can build a baffle out of MDF.

k i know that id need an amp for the comps and thats no prob but how would i use the mdf thnx

what you would do is actually fabricate a mounting bracket out of MDF. the thickness you use depends on a few things. one is how much room thers is in the door panel. if you put a 1" baffle in there but only leave yourself 1/4" clearence from the panel to the speeaker, that won't work. you then mount that baffle to the door, and the speaker to the baffle.

in my car i have 3/4" MDF baffles. i have seen some people glue two 3/4" pieces together to get a 1.5" baffle. it really depends on your application needs, and what your vehicles door panels will allow.
