I just got a Pioneer AVH-P5000DVD Head Unit in like new condition from ebay. I went to wire the unit to test it and I cannot get it to play video at all. I get to the blue warning screen, flip the ebrake switch on, and all that happens is I get a black screen with the Caution message for the rear view camera. Also on the one or two instances that it hasnt gone to the rear view camera, it has just displayed a completely black screen. I have tried this with a few DVD's with the same result. Am I doing something wrong? Is my head unit shot? Has anyone had these issues? I would REALLY appreciate any suggestions

I tried to run through the wiring again and I still am only able to reach a completely black screen when trying to display any video. The troubleshooting manual cites that this is most likely because of an incorrectly connected parking brake line. I believe I connected everything correctly. I also reset the microprocessor. Can anyone help me figure out whats going on?

Make sure the rear view camera wires isn't connected unless you have a rear view camera. Then wire the green e brake wire to the brake ground.
