Currently have a newer Pioneer 8000bt HU installed in a crew cab Chev. Pick up.I have a Alpine 4.1 amp soon to go in along with some Alpine components in front-spx17ref. The questions come with the rears.Delete(unhook) them, Find decent rear speakers for bass, and run other two channels from amp to them, or run a subwoofer off the remaining two channels. I dont plan on another amp. What would be the best sound set up,this seems like a common vehicle...what have people liked the most. Oh, does lifting the tweeters help with separation...Ive heard both ways suggested so far. Newby here...please e-mail posts! thanks in advance! Ross

Rear channel is 4x6 so forget bass. I say add one 10 and use the amp to drive the components and sub.

i agree with that advice.

by "lifting the tweeters" i assume you mean locating them higher on the a-pillar? that works with some vehicles. it all depends on your specific setup and purpose.

if you're just set on hearing music behind you, you can run them from the deck, but that lowers the voltage going to your amps, which allows a greater chance of picking up hiss or noise in the amp.

i agree with murph, just leave the front speakers. you have a small cabin, don't worry about rears.

those spx-ref's should keep you pretty happy. i heard them with no treatment to the doors at all, and was very impressed, even when i had it in my head that they wouldn't sound all that great.
