Hey all,
I have a alpine IVA-D106 and i had one of the first generation ipod video 30gig ipods. Well some punk ass kids thought they needed my ipod more that me and stole it out of my truck. Thank G they did not take the Stereo. Well anyways i bought a brand new fifth generation ipod 120 gig classic from best buy and i hook it up and the videos on the ipod will not play on the screen or even in the search all it says is music and nothing about videos anymore. So my question is? are the new ipods not video compatible with this head unit? I have called alpine tech support three times about the problem and they say they have never heard of it before. I even took the ipod back and exchanged it for another one because i thought that maybe the pins where bad on the ipod itself.
Things i have done.
Erased everything off the ipod and reset the thing a couple times. Turned the tv out on ntsc function on made sure there is ipod videos on the dam thing reset the stereo bought a brand new cable for the high speed ipod video that is special for this deck. Re- checked all the connection in the back.
my old ipod worked like a champ with videos and movies from the ipod but the new one does not. Also the dvd player works with dvds and video cd so the display is good

it is possible that the older in-dash monitors are not compatible with the latest firmware.
