I am helping a buddy put together a budget system. He has one of my Lunar High Currents 60x2 (under rated) for the components and an Xtant 250w mono amp on a 10" IDV3 sub. The head unit is an Alpine 9886. We are trying to find the best components we can get for $200 or less. Was looking at these. Thanks for any info.

Nah, I was kinda hoping someone could give me some input on how those pioneers sound. I assume those Rainbows are no good? I will check on the Type X comps and I also found a set of Morel Tempo 6's for sale for ~ 200.00.

I would go with entry level Morel over Alpine or low end Rainbow. Mainly because I haven't found a Rainbow dealer yet and I won't buy speakers I cannot audition.
I've liked just about every Morel driver i've heard.

Thanks, I passed this info on to him. I am really thinking of ditching my Focal set for some Morel Hybrid Ovations. The focal have just been a pain to tune.
Here are a few to look at and get some ideas. Some are a little more than $200, but not that much more. If you want something bad enough, I'm sure your friend will save up and get em. All are pretty decent comp sets.
