I have done this in the past with np on my truck. Heres the issue, my GTP has a center channel. Heres how it's setup... Front stage on the front RCA, Center on the rear RCAs. I did this so I could TA the front stage and center together. Just not sounding right at all. I have spent hours on it. Maybe it would be better to run the mids to the front RCA and the Tweets to the rear RCAs then TA those. I was pumped about the center channel but I think its doing more harm then good.

One more question, If I do seperate mids/tweets does the front and rear get the exact same signal? It's been so long since I have had rear channels in a vehicle (Thanks MECA lol) that I'm not sure how that would sound either.

what are you using for T/A? processor? head unit?

what type of aftermarket speaker in the center channel?

Andy Jones was just playing with a center channel to do a two seat vehicle (his F150). check out his build log in Team Sounddomain and ask him.

The class I'm in doesnt allow for external processors so I'm just using the W988J.

Today I yanked the center out and tried it the way I stated above. Heres the great news!... The Alpine has a switch on the bottom for F/R/SW or 3-way. After I moved the switch to 3-way it was clear I have found my solution! It seperates the rear for the mids and the fronts for tweets with EQ and X-overs for each. After hours of listening it's finally coming alive. I'm still learning about this Alpine as the manual is NO help since it's all in Japanese lol.

Anyways, thanks for getting back to me. Kinda sad though, I was looking forward to trying out the center channel. If I ever try another class in the next couple years I will try the center with a Alpine 701.
