Hey, I am installing my amps tomorrow. They will be 2 hifonics brutus bxi 2601d's I am using each one to power 1 12" re xxx. My question is what volts do I aim for when setting gain. Each re xxx will be 1 ohm and getting 2600 watts (i know its overated) I used JL audios way to set my 1000/1 and that told me what volts to set the gain at. HOw do I know for these amps. Once again 2600 watts at 1 ohm. Any help helps, as I am doing this tomorrow!! Thanks in advance!!!

Being 2000w subs I would set it for 2000.
BTW - HF swears the 10 series are capable of rated power at 14v. They have some internal upgrades over the older models.
E = sqrt(P/R), E=sqrt(2000/1), E=sqrt(2000), E=44.7v
Hopefully you already have the 50hz 0dB tone on disk.

the manual's method is the quickest and easiest procedure for a novice.
I've found my results using that method are very comparable to using a DMM.

Another question. I can get the amp to read 14 volts when I touch the positive and negative 0 guage inputs, but when I follow the rules for setting the gain I get like a wierd .02 no matter where gain is turned. I have done this before on a slash series 1000/1 JL amp with success. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong??? I dicconect the positive speaker. Use my 50hz 0DB cd. Put gain all the way down. I put head unit 75% up, and I place positive on positive speaker terminal, and negative on neagtive speaker terminlal. DMM on same setting that reads me 14 volts . Any ideas???

You need to set your DMM to AC not DC.
