Hi,
I was wanting to get a speaker system for my corsa because the stock ones have blown. can someone give me a lowdown on what i would need to have a good system i.e. components. I would be gratefull if you could suggest companies that are good quality, but dont charge extortianate prices because of the brand. There is no budget at the moment, but i would like to keep it low without sacraficing quality.
any help is greatly appreciated.

here is a post in a previous thread where i listed brands and my opinions
I consider Roadmaster, Kole, Cody, Rockwood, Dual, etc. as "junk". If it's too crappy for Walmart, it's junk. A step above them is Pyramid, Pyle, Boss, Lanzar, Lightning Audio, entry Audiobahn, etc. A step above them is entry Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine, Sony, Blaupunkt, HiFonics, Orion, Polk, etc. Then all of those brands have another level or two with RF, JL, ID, RE, etc. You don't hit "high end" until you're dropping a grand per item. There are many price points and many different levels of quality.
I would put Boss next to most Audiobhan. However, Boss is still in business, and where is Audiobahn?

note that those are just my personal opinions of gear available right now. many of those brands used to put out amazing top-end gear in the 80's-90's
