Focal 165KRX2 or Hertz 165 MLK?

What sucks is I already have the Focal's coming. I just sold my 4 year old Focal 165 K2P set that still sounded great but was ready for something new. The New focal set has 2ohm resistance and a kevlar tweeter and from what I understand is more laid back. I then found out I have a Hertz dealer near me and could have gotten the Hertz 165 MLK for the same price. I didn't know anything about Hertz until last week when I heard a friends system and he had the set below the MLK's but they were very loud and detailed for the 80W he was pushing to them. Did I make a bad choice? I can probably pawn these Focals off to a friend if I needed to.

I sold them for 500 and went to a Morel Elate set. I am much happier with these.

Im considering getting some 165 KRX2 focals, What made Morels a better decision for you? Anything wrong with the focal powers? Did you get to listen to the KRX2s?

To bad you aren't in my local area. We have a stand alone Focal display, stand alone Hertz Display, and soon a stand alone Morel display. You could have taken a listen.

I had the KRX2 installed for a while.. couple months. Great set but just pain for me to tune. Little bright for me. Not as bad as the K2P set I had. The Morel Elate set was much more forgiving on the ears. Easier for me to tune. They lack a bit of detail compared to the Focal but I am fine with that as I can turn them up loud with out it hurting my ears after a few minutes. The Mids took a while to loosen up and now the midbass sounds decent. I think the Focal Mids are a bit better probably but overall I am very happy with the Morel set and hope to run them for years. I never heard the Hertz other then the HSK line which were amazing for the price. I have heard some arent as happy with the MLK line. Ive read they lack midbass and heard this from an installer as well. Good luck wtih your choice. I am in a truck and the ride can really change the sound.
