A little over $4100 for the three way set. Anyhead heard these yet? What are they like? Apparently the tweeter plays to 1K and that's where they have the system set. Incredible.

For as "little" as woofersetc is asking for online...
"we do not authorize our Focal dealers to sell Focal-America's products online as those found online may be of uncertain origin. Be aware that we often deal with upset customers who purchased Focal through an unauthorized source and have subsequently discovered that they bought counterfeit, defaced or broken product."
If you're going to spend a lot of change on a component set...BUY AUTHORIZED!!!! You'll have factory backing. you do NOT with woofersetc no matter what they claim.
I'm not trying to shoot down your efforts. I'm just thinking about what I'd do if I were in your position.

I got to audition them at AMS in Madison, WI. They were very nice - very articulate and "airy". They were noticably better than the $1,000+ K2P sets they had in the board along side them. I'm not saying I think they are worth $4,000, as that is a pretty stupid amount to spend on one set of speakers that are still totally dependent on an installation. Then you have to ask yourself what amplifier is worthy? what source unit is worth? and i sure hope you don't use an ipod as your source!
if you are going to buy the most expensive speakers, is the rest of your system up to that level?
also, while the tweeter was pretty exceptional, you don't need to spend near that much to have a great tweeter with a low Fs.

excellent points. Nope, a little rich for my blood. Just wanted to know what they were all about.
So KHA, are you saying they were the best speakers you've ever heard, just not worth 4k?

no, i can't say they were the best i've heard since they were in a sound board with no tuning. i was a day early to audition them in a few cars unfortunately. i've also liked what i've heard from Morel and Dynaudio a lot. i can say they were the best Focal speakers i've heard. but i wouldn't run Focal in my car. I would look to Rainbow, Hybrid Audio, Dynaudio, Morel, etc. first.

I've heard the Be's several times. Great speakers. They are built like tanks. I would have no problem running the Be series in any vehicle I owned.

For my price point, I don't like Focal's "budget" speakers below $500. I felt that they didn't handle sibilance well (that is inherent in the recording). I wasn't a fan of how they sounded with hard rock either. Granted, above $1k i think Focal sounds great. But i'm not going to spend that much in speakers without some serious auditioning. at which time i would definitely give Focal another shot along with the other brands i mentioned.
mostly, i haven't heard many hard dome tweeters that i have like. i prefer silk domes. that is just my preference. everyone has their own tastes. i also wouldn't put yellow coned speakers in my car. (the look of the Be series is fine). may be trivial but it's my choice to make.

huh. that's good to know. I'm not going to make any "frivolous" purchases of this sort until it becomes clearer that we are bottoming out and recovering. Stupid reason perhaps. Anyway, I could see myself looking for deals on any Dynaudio 3 way and being done with it; moving on to the next phase of what I need.

I havr a complete BE system in my car. And they are by far the best speaker I have ever heard.I went from the K3P's to #7 with a second mid base Bi-amped.The tweeters and the mids make all the differnce! Any audio person that has sat and listened to them are amazed at the sound and imageing from them. One installed listened to them for under a min and got out of thr car and said he would of never believed that a set of 6,000 dollars speakers in a car would be worth it.He does now!
But on the same note your system is only as good as its weakest link.They like lots of clean power,I run a Steg K2/03 245 watts/ch to the #7 cross over and a K2/02 155watts/ch to the Bi-amped mid-bass.
