hello all..i'm helping a friend out who wants a loud daily..so far we have a kenwood dnx 8120,id ctx65cs, alpine pdx 4.150, 15" fi q, and a sundown 1500. at the moment were getting a box built for the sub..specs are 4 cubes @ 34hz. we were told to get 6x9s for the rear deck but he doesn't want that(wants to be different). we also heard about pa drivers, midbass drivers, and woofers..anything you guys recommend besides 6x9's? they'll get 150 per side @ 4 ohms..thanks.

forgot to mention that we have one roll of raamat bxt to use on the doors and rear deck. he wants speakers in the rear deck, just not 6x9's.

Some cars don't use 6x9s for the rear deck. If his car is equipped with 6x9s the easiest thing to do if he doesn't want normal 6x9s is to look for component 6x9s. They come with the crossover, and the mid/bass driver will fit in the deck. IMO using woofers,mid/bass,pa horns is kind of redundant. You have a fi Q in the trunk, and 6x9s are wider then an 8" so you want to cut 10" holes in the rear deck for more woofers? So, you still need a mid/bass and highs. Now you are cutting 6 3/4"-7" holes as well as 10" holes in the deck and have run out of room for the horns.

the sub in the trunk will mess with any speakers in the rear deck. also, his sub will be louder with those rear deck holes open. if you decide to do speakers back there, make sure they have their own enclosure otherwise the sub will move their cone.

If a 6x9 will fit, an 8" will fit. Though you are getting the same amount of cone area with more work.
Tang Band makes a nice 6x9. Image Dynamics makes a new 6x9.
If you seal them--getting them the proper airspace is just as important as doing it for a sub.
I really don't understand what your original post is even asking. I've read it twice and just got a headache. If you can edit that to be a bit more clear in what you are asking you will probably get better responses.

personally, with the sub back there it is going to be more work than it is worth putting speakers in the rear openings. especially if you choose those 10" drivers, then you just added a whole bunch of work to get it right.
if you don't protect whatever speakers you put in there, the sub will ruin them. if you do protect them, now you have to make sure you enclosure size is dead on AND it has to be perfectly sealed to the rear deck.
i would spend all of that time, money and effort up front, if it was me.
