Truck: Nissan frontier '99 w/ ex cab (see picture below) Maximum space in ex-cab: ~19H X ~20D X ~49W Subwoofer: (4) 10” CompVX Kicker or (4) S10”L7 Kicker Setup system: Prefer vented setup (not sealed) What to look for: Deep bass Kind of music I listen to: Bass & Rap/Hip-Hop

As the summer is ready to hit very soon, I felt like I wanted to go for something different with stereo system. This time I'm trying to aim for four of either 10” CompVX or four of S10”L7 in a vented box. My biggest goal is to build a vented box that'll be able to create deeper bass (maybe as low as 30Hz if possible). I've never heard of CompVX playing music in real life and I have no bright idea what it sounds like; so I probably need your help with that, haha. What kind of design do you have in mind for me? I had a thought about having all of 10” subwoofers facing upward with vented (open-hole) facing toward driver/passenger side. I prefer to go with either VX or L7 that will offer best deep bass for my taste. Thanks.

Decide on a driver first as the difference between the current subs your debating between differ greatly in enclosure parameters

Thanks for the comment, SubNit. A guy from Termpro forum suggested to try out this design:

I may as well try this out and see how it goes. It is high likely that I may go with S10"L7 this time. As I was looking at other people's installation at Kicker.com, there are plentiful of trucks, similar to mine, and some of them were able to put as much as 4 of 15" subwoofers in a wall inside the ex-cab (see pictures below)! I was thinking to myself, "if they can do that, then it is no doubt that I will be able to put four of S10"L7 in a well-make vented box in my truck."
(4) 15" CompVR
 (2) 15"L7 Kicker

^^^ This is almost exactly what I'm trying to make design like that with all subwoofers facing down (invert/open-air).

Okay so as I understand it you want to keep the enclosure below the window line correct? Do you have an estimation as to how much NET airspace you'll have for the subs?
I see no problem with the design you got from termpro, should be a good platform to build from. Sub up port up is generally what works best in most trucks. Since your shooting for low n' loud I would suggest something like ~9-10 ft^3 @32 hz with about 100in^2 of port area. That combination should slam low and get loud while doing so
