Upgrading front speakers.......opinions please.

Well months of install work and I'm actually done. Now It's time to upgrade the front components. Last years speakers on e-bay are really cheap right now!!!

Diamond Audio Hex S600S W/ Silk Tweeters. $209.00
Focal 165KF Poly Kevlar K2 Power Series. $292.00

I have read a couple of blogs else where about blowing up the Hex silk tweeters.
I have never read a bad review about a K2 series Focal.

Any body have an opinion on sound quality over the long haul?
I did not install all of this not to use it.

You will like the Focal's..... The tweeter gets a little bright with time, so you will need to tune that back out. I have them and love them in the wife's truck....

Thank you very much for your advice.
I have been through about 3 iterations of components to get to this point. Thankfully I have been buying used and reselling on e-bay.
Round 1 - Alpine amps w/ infinity speakers.
Round 2 - Rockford Fosgate amps w/ Polk speakers.
Round 3- Zapco amps w/ polk component speakers.
I started w/ 1 Infinity 10" sub, then 2, then 1 JL Audio 10" sub, now I have 1 12" W3 JL sub in a custom fiberglass box behind the passenger side wheelwell.!!!

Yeah, ditch the Polks.... Their SR's are nice, but the rest of the line leaves alot to be desired.... $\:\)$

Well the focals are in and they did not disappoint!
The detail and sound stage are absolutely incredible. I can no longer tell that there is a mid in my door and tweets up on the dash. They blend together perfectly, I could not be happier.

So for my next question. Do I ditch the passive crossovers that came with the focals and use my Alpine PXA-H100 to go active?
I understand that I will be getting a 4 channel time alignment instead of a 2 channel like I have now so my T/A will be much better.
Will I be adversely affecting the SQ of the Focals by not using the factory crossovers?

You will be fine. Just be careful with the tweeter crossover point.
