I had this feature in my 88 Buick Park Ave. You need to have power to the car to pop the trunk and the button was hidden by the glove compartment.

Of course my stuff is already stolen but I want to be able to take extra security. I was thinking of just disabling being able to open it from the cabin but making it so that you need to have power to the car seems a lot better.

What do I need and how much do you think it would cost for a shop to add this feature?

Unplug the switch. Then add power trunk release to your new alarm. That way you can only open it with a key or the remote.

When you build a new system remember these things.
Don't bump near the house.
Don't advertise.
Don't show off.
Mount you amplifier so they are hard to remove.
Secure your box.
Think about a stealth system.
Keep your cars interior clean. No reason to smash a window if you can see there is nothing worth stealing.

I know now not to bump around the area I'm going to park at where ever I'm going.

Box will be mounted and amp will be separately from box and will be behind backseat.

Car will is kept clean. Although, my Buick had hella crap all over it and tons of old food so it wasn't a very clean interior and never got messed with lol

I'll ask them before I purchase it if I can add the power trunk to my alarm. That would be sweet. Disconnecting the trunk is going to be done regardless.
